Morning everyone . . . :coffee:

58° and back to the too damn hot mid nineties here again.

Back in Bridgeport I would feed the quails that hung around the yard, one day all that was left of one was a bunch of feathers in the yard, we also had a few red tails or Coopers hanging around the area. Then one day as I opened the front door a quail flew in, got it cornered and gave it the old deer in the headlights treatment with a flashlight and grabbed it, then released it back outside. That was the skinniest thing under those plump feathers.

Good morning. I must have every dove within a 5 mile radius in my back yard. I have counted twenty plus. My finch feeder has a wire cage to keep the doves out, But the finches kick a lot of their expensive food out, which attracts more doves.
79-112 today.

Morning. Cloudy, still, 64 degrees with predicted high of 91.

We live on what was once, and still mostly is, a sagebrush-covered ridge. Trees in this area at a premium. Since we have big trees in the yard, including one habitat tree that is used every year for nesting, we get a lot of birds. Right now the big attraction is the fruit on the chokecherries. Messy and invasive as those darn things are, I leave them for bird food. I walked out the backdoor the other day and I'll bet two dozen birds of different feathers had flocked together to eat.
