Morning all . . .
12° I kind of like when it's cold enough and a light snow doesn't melt the first few flakes and I can blow the walks with the leaf blower, but here it always seems we have a prevailing breeze from the West and it blows the snow "dust" back in my face. But the ground is dry again.

Another, cold for us, day. 37 out right now, heading for a high of 59. The ski slope is open for business.

Morning. Still cold this morning at 34 degrees and 20 mph wind. No sign of melting snow or ice yet. Our prevailing wind is out of the southwest. When the wind swings around to the northeast, we know we're in for a humdinger of a storm.
I feel almost human this morning, but decided to skip the Saturday morning writers group to make sure I don't pass this stuff on. Okay. The decison wasn't completely altruistic. I don't feel up to peopling today. Takes too much psychic energy. Got up, finished reading The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien, then went back to work myself. Occasionally, I read a book and think, is this writer really so much better than I am or does he just have a deeper compost pile to mine? Sometimes the answer is a resounding Yes.
