It's a bright pretty morning at the foot of the ridge. Currently 56 degrees with a predicted high of 87. Too hot, but I'll take it over the 104 degrees my brother gets to enjoy in the Rio Grande Valley later today.
Red tail hawk was hanging out in the tree yesterday. I think the puppy is too big for him, and McDuff is constantly at puppy's side, but I'd just as soon that raptor went to hunt prairie dogs or bull snakes. Bird was hanging around watching the neighbor's chickens recently. She has a particularly aggressive and disagreeable rooster, but he takes care of his hens. Upon seeing the hawk, he herded the girls into the chicken coop, then went back outside. That darn rooster stood on the ground, looking up at the hawk, obviously saying, "Bring it on, dude." Dude didn't. Had it come to a fight, I think I'd have bet on the rooster. Neighbor has game cameras in her yard that caught the whole scene.

Good morning. Have to clean out my back yard fountain this morning. Getting pretty nasty looking. The local birds rely on it for a water source. 78-109 predicted for today.
