Wednesday December 31st

Morning all . . . :coffee:

19° no air movement and I can see the stars.

Yes just about everything is brought into Hawaii by cargo freighters or now aircraft for some goods.
Juneau AK is the same way as it is land locked, everything comes in by ship or float plane, but the Costco hot dogs are the same price as every Costco there.
I think if I recall correctly Crescent City CA has to have it's gasoline barged in, because of it's location, where it gets wiped out by a tsunami if Anchorage gets another huge earthquake.

Happy New Year's eve ! It's going to be 56-78 but overcast today. Chance of a little California left over rain this afternoon.
I plan to celebrate the dawn of the new year by turning over on my right side around midnight. Standing in the New York cold all day in freezing temps ? Not for this old guy !!

Happy New Year's Eve. Thirty degrees, sunny, wind barely worth mentioning at 15 mph.

Barring all unforeseen events, at midnight Roy and I will be standing on the front porch, facing east, watching the new year roll in as I've done almost every year since I was first allowed to stay up until midnight. It was my father's tradition and carrying on with it makes me happy.

Funny story on myself. In 1999, Roy, the kids, and I headed outside to watch the fireworks celebrating the millennium. I was so busy watching my children to make sure they didn't fall in the dark that I missed a step and fell myself. Ergo, the last thing I did in 1999 was fall down the stairs and fracture my foot. The first thing I did in 2000 was get back up and walk it off. Yee haw. :cowboy

Morning all.

Sure got cold here quickly.

32 degrees this morning. Where's that global warming I keep hearing about?
Life is like riding a motorcycle. Balance is key, unless you’re at a stoplight and forget to put your feet down. Then, balance is just embarrassing.
